A firm can be considered in a practice area only if at least one of its lawyers is recognized in that area in the current edition of The Best Lawyers in Canada™. The rankings then draw on feedback from clients and professional references, feedback from lawyers about their peers, and information that the firms provide. For the 2027 edition, Best Lawyers reports that it surveyed 8,274 lawyers and 1,360 firms and received 4,631 client references.

The Practice Groups Behind the Rankings
Insurance Law. The firm’s insurance group, led by partners Jim Davidson and Chris Morrison, defends insurers and the insureds they appoint the firm to defend, advises on coverage, and runs its appeals in-house.
